Allen Meadows: Here the taciturn and brooding nose only grudgingly reveals its aromas of the sauvage, earth, plum, cassis and background floral nuances. The big-bodied flavors are tighter and more massive than those of the Charmes though they are also more mineral-driven on the muscular, intense and exceptionally persistent finish. This powerful effort is going to require extended cellaring.
