Allen Meadows: Classic ruby with no bricking. A maturing and highlycomplex and nuanced nose of red and black cherry fruit aromasnuanced by spice, damp earth and game notes leads to medium weight,sappy, refined and intense flavors that display outstandingprecision and superb length. This is ripe and pure and finisheswith a very appealing stony quality to complement the outstandingpersistence. For my taste, this has reached a stage where it couldbe drunk now with pleasure or held for another 3-ish plus yearsfirst. A really lovely and harmonious effort. Notwithstanding thelaudatory description above I should note that I have experienced atremendous amount of bottle variation with this wine, including anynumber of corked and/or funky examples. Indeed I recently did anevent where 6 bottles of this wine were opened and all 6 werebetween slightly to overtly flawed.
