Antonio Galloni: An exotic melange of bacon fat, melted road tar,
grilled herbs and smoke emerges from the 2008 Au Sommet. This is a
decidedly huge, powerful Cabernet bursting with dark fruit
accompanied by exotic aromas and flavors. Firm tannins support the
powerful finish. There is plenty of Atlas Peak character in this
rich, distinctive wine. The 2008 is a bit wild at times, but
certainly not short on personality.
